I have been able to put together a very nice collection of memorabilia on the DC-9. It ranges from Ads to internal company handbooks. Click on a heading below to see.

Ads

I find these ads very interesting. Most of the ads were targeted to the end consumer ... something you rarely see now.

Brochures

One of the key marketing features of the DC-9 was that it replaced slower and lower prop driven aircraft. Various airlines created these brochures (with the help of Douglas) to tout the Speed, Comfort and how quiet the DC-9 was.

Progress Reports

After struggling with the production with the DC-9, Douglas was keen to keep its customers and potential customers informed of the great progress it was making in the production of the DC-9. These reports also acted as a marketing tool that Douglas used to tout its growing DC-9 order book. They contain some very interesting information and pictures.
